Pilates leg workout: a 25-minute mat and standing class for your thighs
On the reformer, classical classes start with footwork: pushing the carriage away with your feet. This class does the same standing up, with squats and calf raises, then works your legs from every side on the mat: leg circles and an inner-thigh squeeze on your back, the side kick series on your side, a hamstring kick face down, and lunges and a balance hold to finish. A ball, cushion or Pilates ring helps for the squeeze.

Tips
- For stronger or bigger legs, add load over the weeks: deeper squats, lunges holding weights, or a heavier band.
- No leg move slims that leg: thighs get slimmer when body fat falls.
- Knee locks, gives way or swells badly? Get advice from NHS 111.
- Twice a week, alongside walking or other activity.
The doses are suggested starting points, not a prescription. Choose a range you can control and stop for sharp or increasing pain, numbness or tingling. Get individual advice after an injury or surgery, or if you are pregnant or managing a health condition.
