Methodology

How the grades work.

Fascia is where exciting science and wellness marketing collide. Our answer is not to avoid claims. It is to grade every one of them in public and link the source. These are the rules.

The three grades

What earns a tag, and what we do with it once it is earned.

evidence · strong

32 of 47 claims

Replicated human randomized trials or meta-analyses. Or findings so consistently reproduced they are textbook anatomy.

Safe to act on. A single small trial does not earn this tag, however exciting.

evidence · emerging

12 of 47 claims

A plausible mechanism with early, observational, or animal data behind it.

Worth knowing, held loosely. When we extrapolate from mechanism to advice, the sentence says so.

evidence · mixed

3 of 47 claims

Honest experts disagree, trials point both ways, or an industry funds most of the favorable results.

We say which. We do not resolve a mixed record into a confident recommendation.

The policy

Where sources come from, how claims get re-checked, and who is accountable for them.

Primary literature first: randomized trials, meta-analyses, and cohort studies. Each is cited by name and year, and linked to PubMed or the publisher DOI wherever one exists.

Mechanistic and dissection studies support mechanism claims only, never outcome claims. Press releases, supplement-brand blogs, and uncited influencer claims do not qualify as sources. They qualify as subjects for the hype checks.

Every change to a claim or a grade is recorded in the site’s source history. The ledger is re-reviewed yearly against new literature.

Corrections are made in the open. If a graded claim is challenged and the source does not hold, the grade changes on the ledger. The claim does not quietly disappear.

The site is written and maintained by its founder, who is not a clinician. That is exactly why every claim carries a grade and a source, instead of an appeal to authority.

A licensed physical therapist is being recruited to review all movement and symptom content before it publishes. Until that byline exists, the site publishes no symptom-specific pages and no pain protocols. Nothing here replaces professional care. See about.

A grade is a promise. The ledger is where we keep it.
