How to move
- Stand with your back flat against a wall, walk your feet out and slide down until your knees are near a right angle. Hold there with your weight through your heels, breathing normally rather than gripping your breath.
Practice and cautions
3 to 4 holds of 30 to 60 seconds, resting a minute or two between.
Blood pressure climbs during hard isometric holds, so clear this with a clinician if you have uncontrolled hypertension or a heart condition, and never hold your breath.
