Standing on a band fixed to the bar's ends, the EZ bar curls up against the band's growing pull: elastic resistance works the muscles and builds strength much as weights do, and the EZ curl's grips were about equally effective.

Close-grip EZ-bar curl with a band
Standard option
These tiers compare demands within this family, not universal safety or a mandatory sequence. Load, range, balance and your circumstances can change difficulty. Choose deliberately; pain does not select a progression.

How to move
Stand on the middle of a band whose ends are fixed to the bar, a close underhand grip on the EZ bar.
Curl the bar up toward the chest, the elbows at the sides.
Lower it all the way against the band.
Form cues
The band pulls hardest at the top: control it there.
Keep the upper arms still.
Practice and cautions
No universal dose is assigned. Choose a manageable amount for your current capacity, leave room for controlled repetitions, and allow recovery. A clinician’s individual plan takes priority.
This is movement education, not an assessment or treatment prescription. Stop for sharp or increasing pain, dizziness, numbness or tingling; seek individual guidance for symptoms, injury or restrictions.
