How to move
- From half moon pose, balanced on one leg with the lower hand on a block, you bend the lifted knee, reach back with the top arm to catch that foot, then press the foot into the hand so the chest opens and the whole shape curves like a drawn bow.
Practice and cautions
Hold 15 to 20 seconds per side, 2 rounds, bottom hand on a block set well forward of the standing foot.
Practise near a wall; reaching back for the foot is the moment balance is most likely to go. The caught knee is in deep flexion, so release the foot if the kneecap or hamstring complains, and keep the gaze down rather than up if turning the head makes you wobble.
