How to move
- Set two pulleys at about shoulder height, take a handle in each hand and step forward into a staggered stance so the cables pull from slightly behind you. With a fixed, slight bend in your elbows, sweep your hands together in front of your chest, then open back out until you feel a deep but comfortable stretch.
Practice and cautions
3 sets of 10 to 15 reps, leaving about 2 reps in reserve.
The stretched position with arms wide is where shoulders are most vulnerable: choose a weight you can fully control there, and never let the stack drag your arms behind your body. To end a set, step forward towards the pulleys before releasing the handles rather than letting them fly back.
