How to move
- Hike the bell back and snap your hips as in a hard swing, keeping the bell close as it rises. Near the top, punch your hand through so the bell rolls softly onto the back of your wrist with the arm locked overhead, then lower by letting it flip off and swing back between your legs into the next rep.
Practice and cautions
Intervals suit it: 15 seconds of snatching, 15 seconds of rest, alternating hands, building from 6 toward 20 minutes; or 5 sets of 8 to 10 per side with full rest.
The bell must roll onto your wrist, not flip and slam it; if your forearm is taking hits, go lighter and punch through earlier. To bail from overhead, steer the bell forward and down into a swing and park it on the floor, or let go forward and step back; never wrestle a bell that is off line, and keep people and objects out of the arc.
