How to move
- From an L-sit you raise your straight legs towards your face and lean back slightly until your body forms a V, supported on straight arms. It demands hard compression from the hip flexors and abs on top of real hamstring flexibility.
Practice and cautions
4 to 6 sets of 5 to 10 second holds, with compression and pike flexibility drills on separate days.
Forcing the fold strains hamstrings and cramps hip flexors, and tipping backwards out of the hold is common while learning. The risks are mostly strains rather than anything dramatic.
