How to move
- Clean the bell to the rack, brace, dip a few inches by bending the knees, then drive up through your legs and punch the bell to lockout overhead as the leg drive spends itself. Lower it back to the rack under control between reps.
Practice and cautions
3 to 5 sets of 3 to 6 per side, done fresh; when reps start to grind, the leg drive has gone and the set is over.
Keep ribs down and do not let the lockout drift into an arched lower back, especially as fatigue arrives. To bail, drop the bell forward from the rack, or steer an overhead miss forward and down into a swing to the floor while stepping back; never try to catch a falling bell.
