How to move
- You link chair pose, a standing fold, chaturanga to upward dog and downward dog, then step to warrior one on each side with a vinyasa between, one movement per breath, finishing back through the fold and chair to standing.
Practice and cautions
3 to 5 rounds at one breath per movement, resting in downward dog or standing between rounds; drop the knees in chaturanga whenever form fades.
Repeated chaturangas load the wrists and shoulders, and repeated chair poses load the knees; lower the knees or shallow the squat rather than grinding through. The head drops below the heart every round, so pace yourself if you get light headed.
