Foam rolling & fascia
Fascia release for legs
Each area gets a slow roll, then a stretch for the same muscles. The roll buys a few minutes of easier movement and the stretch uses it. Keep the pressure moderate, a level you can breathe through.

Tips
- Rolling the outer thigh may feel good, but it does not lengthen the IT band: in cadaver tests the band barely stretched at all.
- Skip the outer-thigh roll and the side reach if the bony point on the outside of your hip is sore.
- Never roll a calf that is swollen, red or darkened, or throbbing; get it checked urgently.
- For lasting change, keep this up 2 to 3 times a week for more than 4 weeks.
The doses are suggested starting points, not a prescription. Choose a range you can control and stop for sharp or increasing pain, numbness or tingling. Get individual advice after an injury or surgery, or if you are pregnant or managing a health condition.
