How to move
- Place one palm flat against a wall at chest height with the arm straight and the fingers pointing down, then lean in gently until the pull spreads up the underside of the forearm. The same stretch works kneeling with palms on the floor and fingers turned back towards your knees.
Practice and cautions
Hold 30 seconds, 2 to 3 rounds per side, repeated through long desk days.
Numbness or tingling in the fingers is a nerve complaining rather than a muscle stretching, so ease off until only a dull pull remains. With active carpal tunnel symptoms keep the pressure gentle and stop if symptoms flare afterwards.
