How to move
- Kneel with comfortable space between the knees. Place both palms on a stable, firm cushion ahead of you and begin with the trunk raised.
- Slowly sit the hips back as far as comfortable, keeping the hands supported. Lower the forehead toward the cushion without pressing the face into it.
- Keep the palms on the cushion and bring the hips and trunk forward to the supported starting position.
Form cues
- The hips can stay comfortably short of the heels.
- The cushion supports the palms and forehead; the torso does not rest on a bolster.
- Leave space for the abdomen and chest, keep the neck comfortable, and breathe normally.
Practice and cautions
The 12-second animation explains the movement. It is not a recommended hold time, repetition count, or treatment plan.
Deep knee bending can be uncomfortable. Skip the position with knee pain or restrictions after joint surgery.
